Don’t stop talking to your consumers (marketing).

Fear, uncertainty, and doubt is the current market voice.

Your marketing can/should represent calm, the certainty that this will pass, and an understanding of future opportunities.

So, what does your marketing mix look like?

Email Marketing is Your First Move

This is a time for email. Hopefully, you have a list and this isn’t the first time that you’ve talked to them. But, even if it is a new thing start getting your customers and network connected to you.

Produce Content and Find Your Audience

Produce content, lots of content. People are consuming more than ever, especially online. They are seeking new and interesting content. Do something new and creative. Educate and inform. Develop a new channel – blog, social media, video.

Leverage Your Agency for Crisis Marketing

Leverage your agency and push them to shift their efforts to innovating your marketing creative and operations to the current market conditions. Encourage them to position you for the “new normal.” Somethings change temporarily. Somethings will change forever. Work on both fronts.

What crisis marketing questions do you have? I’m doing an ongoing AMA on Twitter: https://twitter.com/billrice/status/1240264319545356290?s=21
